Chapter 2 of Egg Hunt 2026: The Grand Eggspress — the snow world Songhua Station — becomes free to play on August 5, 2026. The date comes from Studio Koi Koi’s official release announcement, which listed Chapter 2’s free date alongside the July 29 launch. No exact unlock hour has been announced; the rest of the game (Chapters 3–6) remains part of the $30 full-game purchase.

What is Songhua Station?

Songhua Station is the second story chapter — a snow-and-ice world that the Grand Eggspress reaches after Florentine Forest. The official badge descriptions sketch what’s waiting there: Crystal Carrot collectibles, an Ice Sliding minigame, a race against a character called Nitro Jen, Climbing Picks as traversal gear, and a Century Shard badge named “Breaking the Ice.” Egg names lean hard into the theme — Yeti Egg, Eggloo, Aurora Bor-egg-alis, Frosted Glacial Egg.

Like Florentine Forest’s eggs, every found egg can be bought as a wearable hat from the in-game menu afterward — the badge descriptions state this for each egg, with a matching Marketplace item.

If you haven’t started yet, the free path on August 5 covers the prologue plus two full story chapters — roughly 35 eggs’ worth of hunting at no cost. What we’re doing on unlock day

Our production plan for August 5, in order:

1. Verify the unlock — confirm Songhua Station is actually free and note the hour it flipped.
2. Confirm the egg count — the badge list says 17; we check whether the in-game world matches.
3. Publish location guides — one page per egg with step-by-step directions, starting with the eggs players hit first on the main route. They’ll appear in the egg database and be linked from the table above.

The event closes August 29, 2026, so Chapter 2 hunters get just over three weeks with the new world.
